About Sharvedda |
The name Sharvedda comes from the Norse for small sea fishing place or a small fishing station beside the sea. We can provide you with the perfect base for exploring and discovering for yourself the magic of Sutherland with its spectacular scenery, dramatic coastline and miles of deserted sandy beaches. You can marvel at a sunset over Strathy Point, search for the rare Primula Scotica and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful area. You will be welcomed on arrival with a pot of tea or coffee and a tray of Patsy's delicious home-baked treats and you can quickly relax and be made to feel at home. |

The spacious lounge has panoramic views over Strathy Bay where you can watch for seals, dolphins and whales or browse through a wide selection of books and information on the surrounding area to help you plan the next day's activities. |

Meals are served in the conservatory with outstanding views of Dunnet Head and the Orkney Islands and fresh local produce is used whenever possible. A wide breakfast menu offers porridge, cereals, a full Scottish breakfast or local specialities such as smoked Scrabster haddock with poached egg all with tea, coffee and toast and Patsy’s homemade marmalade and fruit jams. Evening meals can be booked by prior arrangement. |
